China donates flood relief equipment

Prime Minister Mark Phillips yesterday received a donation of flood relief equipment from the Chinese Government through its Embassy in Guyana.

A release yesterday from the Office of the Prime Minister said that the donation, which will be utilised by the Civil Defence Commission (CDC), included two Aurora 950 amphibious vehicles equipped for search and rescue. The vehicles were provided by Encore Power Inc.

The Prime Minister also received four mercury outboard engines, which were provided by Farm Supplies Limited, and four 14-foot marine super-wide jon boats supplied by SEBCO/Automotive Art.
