Dear Editor,
I have written before about the disgusting and frustrating congestion around one of the main centres of our capital city, Stabroek Market and the main business places surrounding this. This will surely affect our tourism and other efforts involving outsiders that are being pursued.
I am now wondering why this awful obstruction to our movement around this area and eyesore is being permitted by the City Council and government officials. I can only conclude that they are taking no deterrent action because they feel this may impact on their support by, and influence over, those responsible for this congestion and their supporters.
I can only hope that those in authority in our country and in the various governing agencies base their strategies and actions on what is right or wrong, rather than how their decisions will affect their own status.
