Santos defeated Fruta Conquerors 2-0 last evening as the second round of the KFC Elite League resumed at the National Training Centre in Providence.
Following a scoreless first-half interval, Stephon Reynolds opened the scoring as he found the back of the net in the 52nd minute.
The outcome was then sealed via an Andrew Simmons freekick from the left side of the penalty box in the 85th minute, as he fired his effort into the top of the left corner despite the diving goalkeeper getting a hand to the ball.
It was the sixth win for Santos, who moved into fourth place with 18 points. On the other hand, it was the sixth defeat for the Fruta Conquerors, who remain in seventh place with 10 points.
