New management committee picked for Rosignol Fishermen Cooperatives

A new Committee of Management has been elected to replace the Interim Management Committee (IMC) formerly governing the Rosignol Fishermen Cooperatives Society Ltd, according to a release yesterday from the Ministry of Labour.

This is following an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election held on Sunday, May 26 at the society’s boardroom on Stelling Road, Rosignol, West Bank Berbice, under the supervision of Chief Co-operatives Development Officer (CCDO) of the Ministry of Labour, Janaknauth Panchu, the release said.

The Co-operative Society, which was established in 1966, had been under the supervision of an IMC since 2017.

The election on Sunday went successfully and yielded the following Committee of Management:

Hardat Malchan as the Chairman

Allim Inshan as the Secretary

Bhagmattie Omar as the Treasurer

Pooran Persaud as the Assistant Secretary/ Treasurer

The following members were also elected to the Supervisory Committee:

Anandkumar Somwaru

Maipaul Arjune

Wesley Parmanand
