Linden Technical Institute (LTI), the Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA), and the University of Guyana (UG) registered hard-fought wins when the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) Tertiary League continued at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.
LTI overcame its archrival, the Government Technical Institute 66-60. Kimol Grimmond led the way for the victory with a double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals, while Neil Marks supported him with 14 points and eight rebounds. Chipping in with 11 points was Colin Phillips.
On the other side, Martin Edwards registered 18 points, six rebounds, and three steals, while Peter Langevine recorded an impressive double-double of 17 points and 29 rebounds. Also tallying a double-double was Delmar Grant with 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Similarly, UG squeaked past New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) 45-39. Jushawn Bailey recorded impressive figures of 25 points, nine rebounds, and four steals, while Malachi Grimmond supported himself with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
For the loser, Jerome Trim tallied a double-double of 13 points and 17 rebounds, while Jared Dainty amassed 11 points and eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, the GSA unit downed Upper Corentyne Combined (UCC) 41-33. Avery White bagged 17 points and four rebounds in the win, while Dennis Prince registered 11 points and nine rebounds, and Dexter Quintin scored 11 points and seven rebounds.
On the other side, Frederick Lashley scored 16 points, while Aldon Angel recorded nine points and 11 rebounds.
