On Tuesday 28th May, 2024, Shafeek Latiff and Naresh Totaram appeared before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court, where they were found guilty in relation to the charge of trafficking in narcotics to wit 42.844 kg of cannabis.
They were both sentenced to three years imprisonment and fined $38,541,600 each, a release from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit said yesterday.
