Timehri Panthers and Soesdyke Falcons recorded contrasting wins when the East Bank Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League continued at the National Training Centre, Providence.

The Timehri Panthers mauled the Pakuri Warriors 8-2. The combination of Tyrone Burnette and Tyrel Khan recorded a combined seven goals. Burnett amassed a first-half helmet trick to essentially seal the contest.

He opened the floodgates with a 16th-minute conversion before sealing his brace in the 23rd minute to double his side’s advantage. Three minutes later, the score ballooned once more as Burnette completed his hat-trick.

His first-half exploits were then completed in the 38th minute. Khan then assumed the scoring responsibility as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 40th minute to make it 5-0. Pakuri Warriors eventually reduced the deficit in the 50th minute as Tino Simon scored. However, Khan restored his team’s advantage as he sealed his brace in the 64th minute.

An 86th-minute strike then completed his hat-trick as Timehri increased their advantage to 7-1. Keyon Williams then got into the scoring act in the 89th to make it 8-1. Simon would net another consolation goal in the 90th+1 minute.

Meanwhile, the Soesdyke Falcons clawed past Diamond United 4-2. Shane Meusa gave the Falcons the initial advantage as he found the back of the net in the third minute. The lead was then doubled in the 21st minute via a Terrence Glasgow conversion. However, Ixis Da Silva reduced the deficit with a 27th-minute effort. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval.

Diamond would then level proceedings in the 64th minute as Kadeem Bacchus made his presence felt. However, any hopes of a come-from-behind win were extinguished following two goals in the space of a minute in the dying embers of the contest.

Wayne James seized the advantage for Soesdyke as he slotted home in the 83rd minute to make it 3-2, before Glasgow completed his double one minute later to seal the eventual score-line.
