– event set for Sunday start
The Georgetown Football Association (GFA) launched their 2024 Senior Men’s League last evening at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground in Bourda.
The event, which will be played on a one-round basis, will feature nine competing teams. They are: Eastveldt, Northern Rangers, Black Pearl, Vengy, Beacons, Order and Discipline, Riddim Squad, Pele, Camptown, and GFC.
The winner of the event will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $300,000, $200,000, and $100,000, respectively, and the corresponding accolade.
The event will commence on Sunday at the National Training Centre in Providence. At 18:30hrs, Eastveldt will oppose the Northern Rangers, while the feature match will pit Black Pearl against Vengy from 21:00hrs.
