Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), under its Pepsi brand, has thrown its support behind the 5th edition of the ExxonMobil Boy’s and Girl’s Schools U-14 Football Championship, which is currently being staged at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The confirmation of the company’s partnership occurred yesterday at a simple presentation ceremony staged at their Great Diamond location on the East Bank of Demerara.
Schemel Patrick, DDL Brands Communication Manager, said, “We at Pepsi are thrilled to be part of this tournament once again. Beyond the sport itself, I am pleased to support the youth as they pursue their sporting journey.
I am particularly impressed by the inclusivity of the tournament, with both boys and girls having the chance to represent their respective teams. We are confident in Petra’s coordination, having seen the quality and growth of the tournament over the past five years. We are proud to be part of making history.”
On the other hand, Troy Mendonca, Co-Director of the Petra Organisation, said, “I am truly happy to be here today, and receiving this donation is an even greater feeling. I would like to thank the teams at DDL as well as Miss Patrick for this contribution. Your support has been tremendous over the past year, allowing the tournament to grow immensely. We look forward to continued growth in the years to come.”
Meanwhile, the event, which commenced on May 27th and concludes on July 6th, continues on Sunday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
