A 10-year-old boy was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital on Thursday for treatment after he was beaten with a belt with a buckle. The child was later handed over to the Child Care and Protection Agency.
A police press release said on Thursday, at about 19:20 hours, acting on information received, ranks responded to a report of ‘domestic violence’ at North Victoria, E.C.D. Upon arrival, contact was made with Melaine Poole, who reported that about 16:30 hours, a 10-year-old, ran into her yard screaming and shouting for help.
Poole further stated that she observed blood flowing from a wound on the boy’s head and rendered first-aid treatment to control the bleeding. She then inquired from the lad how he suffered his injuries, and he stated that he was beaten with a belt (with buckle). The police were summoned.
