Dear Editor,
I am an avid listener to the political social media shows in Guyana, and the rest of the Caribbean. I can tell you with certainty that the social media shows in Guyana are the most vitriolic, inciteful and dangerous. As I watched and listened to them, I often wondered why law enforcement has not taking action to curtail the bile and rhetoric that is spewed on these shows.
I remembered clearly when former President David Granger was threatened, there was a commission of public enquiry, and several people even lost their jobs. Kudos to law enforcement for taking steps to eradicate this unwanted behaviour. I will be shocked that after examining all the shows, if charges are not upgraded. My only question to the Police is, what took you so long?
Sincerely,
Herbert Allen
