Linden Zone Guinness Greatest of the Streets
After torrential rainfall forced organizers to postpone semifinal two and the final on Monday last, fans will once again make their way to the Retrieve Hardcourt to witness the final of this year’s Linden segment of the Guinness’ Greatest of the Streets’ Competition.
On Monday, the lone game that was played saw Silver Bullets outgun the Spaniards 3-0 in semifinal one before rain cut short proceedings. With their place in the final already cemented, the Silver Bullets will be anxiously awaiting their next target. The second semi-final which will kick off tonight, will see Turf Presidents take on Hardball Management with the winner advancing to meet a confident Sliver Bullets unit for the cash prize, trophy and bragging rights.
While Lindeners showed up in their numbers on Monday night, the organisers are once again anticipating another large turnout of fans. “This crucial component has become integral for the competing teams who rely on the support of their respective neighbourhood to boost their chances of winning”, the organisers said.
Over $1.5 million is up for grabs with the winning team expected to cart off $500,000 and a trophy, while the second, third and fourth-place finishers will take home $400,000, $300,000 and $250,000 respectively.
Colours Boutique has contributed the uniforms worn by the teams as has been the custom in recent times while there will be Guinness giveaways for patrons from the title sponsor.
