In efforts to prepare for their reintegration into society, on May 27, 2024, 33 female inmates at the Timehri Prison successfully completed the sexual offenders and substance abuse training.

At the graduation ceremony, Officer-in-Charge of the location, Michelle Boyce, said rehabilitation is a central goal of the correctional system.

She noted that the Guyana Prison Service (GPS) established the rehabilitation programme with the aim of creating an opportunity for inmates to make a smooth reintegration into society.
