Georgetown Hospital selling five derelict vehicles

The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) is inviting sealed bids for the sale of five derelict vehicles.

According to an advertisement in the Guyana Chronicle, the hospital is seeking to dispose of the vehicles, which are currently in a state of disrepair, and is offering them for sale on an as is where is basis with no warranties or guarantees.

The ad said the bidding process will take place on Monday, June 17, and interested parties are invited to inspect the vehicles daily from today, between 10:30 am and 11:30 am, and 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm at the Procurement Department of the GPHC.

Further, the ad instructed that bids must be placed in sealed envelopes bearing no identification of the bidders on the outside and must be clearly marked on the top, left-hand corner “Procurement of Five Derelict Vehicles”. The highest bid for each vehicle and the highest bid for the bundle will be considered.

The ad continued that payment must be made in cash or a manager’s cheque payable to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation by the successful bidder within six working days of being informed. Failure to pay within the stipulated time will result in the next successful bidder being considered. The successful bidder will be responsible for removing and transporting the vehicles from the location, which must be completed within 12 working days after payment is made in full.

Bid forms can be uplifted from the Procurement Department of the GPHC, and bids must be deposited at the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, GPHC, New Market Street, Georgetown, no later than 9 am on June 17. The ad also cautioned that electronic bidding was not permitted, and late bids would be rejected. It said bidders and/or their representatives were invited to be present at the bid opening, which will take place at 10:30 am on June 17, at the Procurement Department.

The GPHC reserves the right to reject any or all bids without assigning any reason whatsoever and without necessarily awarding to the lowest bidder, the notice ended.
