Ranks from Regional Police Division #7 and members of the Purple Heart Youth Group held a storytelling and poetry activity on Saturday with the aim of fostering creativity and enhancing literacy skills among youths.
According to a police press release, Inspector Bacchus, Community Relations Officer, Region Division #7, Corporal Bentinck, Constable Singh from Bartica Police Station, Sergeant Fraser, and Constable Marks from Itaballi Checkpoint, along with members of the Purple Heart Youth Group, conducted the activity.
Colette Ault, English teacher and Isabella Wellborn Health & Family Life teacher from Three Miles Secondary School were also present, the release said.
According to the press release, the activity sought to identify and select candidates to participate in the upcoming force anniversary poetry competition. The presence of the ranks and teachers emphasized the community’s commitment to support educational and recreational activities for young people, it added.
