Dear Editor,
It was a pleasant and nostalgic walk down the shaded Samaan lined Main Street Avenue in the ‘Main Street Landmark’ Editorial (SN May 29). The many landmarks identified, past and present, evoked memories of a time when strolling along the avenue was a delightful pastime. Of course now, a section of the avenue is devoted to commercial endeavours. Main Street Avenue has undergone and evolved with the moving hands of time. Like the rest of the city the changing landscape is occurring. Change is inevitable but memories, like those evoked by the Main Street stroll will always linger.
