Linden Technical Institute (LTI), Government Technical Institute (GTI), and the Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA) romped to lopsided victories when the Youth Basketball Guyana’s Tertiary Basketball League continued on Sunday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
LTI dismantled the University of Guyana (UG) 70-42. Kemol Grimmond led the rout with impressive figures of 23 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, while Lerone Joseph tallied a double-double of 11 points and as many rebounds. Neil Marks added 10 points.
On the other side, Oroyo Trotman recorded 16 points, while Jushawn Bailey registered 13 points and nine rebounds.
Likewise, GTI crushed Upper Corentyne Combined (UCC) 62-37. Peter Langevine recorded 16 points and seven rebounds, while Jamal Mercier and Martin Edwards contributed 14 and 11 points, respectively. For UCC, Frederick Lashley recorded a game-high 24 points and six rebounds, with Aaron King the next best scorer with six points.
Meanwhile, GSA dismissed the New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) 57-41. Shannon Wilson amassed 22 points and 20 rebounds in a double-double effort, while Vivian Bowling added 10 points and five rebounds, and Dennis Prince chipped in with eight points and 11 rebounds.
For NATI, Timothy Rampersaud recorded 16 points and five rebounds, while Jared Dainty tallied 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The event continues on Sunday at the same venue with the final round of group stage matches.
