Classic Ball Blasters (CBB) blanked Vanguards 3-0 when the Demerara Volleyball Association Senior Men’s League continued yesterday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Despite the eventual score-line, it was a keenly contested affair, as CBB seized control of the contest at 1-0 with a 25-18 win in the first stanza.
CBB then doubled their advantage as they prevailed by an identical score in the second set. Although Vanguards improved in the third stanza, CBB would triumph 25-22 to secure the result.
Meanwhile, on Monday at the same venue, Eagles soared past Venguy 3-0. Eagles stormed to a 1-0 advantage as they won the first set 25-17. They then doubled their lead following a hard-fought 25-23 result in the second stanza. The victory was then sealed as the Eagles unit clinched the third set 25-14.
The event continues tonight at the same venue.
