– Dindyal to serve as captain
The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has selected their U-19 squad for the impending CWI Rising Stars 50-Over Championship, with Mavindra Dindyal confirmed as the team’s captain for the event, which commences on July 2nd.
According to a release from the GCB, Jonathan Van Lange will serve in the capacity of deputy captain, while the other members of the team are: Rampertab Ramnauth, Sachin Balgobin, Alvin Mohabir, Zachary Jodah, Thaddeus Lovell, Romeo Deonarain, Shahid Viera (WK), Krsna Singh, Riyad Latiff, Golcharran Chulai, Bruce Vincent, and Anthon Lim.
The standby players are: Rampersaud Ramnauth, Shiloh Adams, Kumar Deopersaud, Salim Khan, Wavell Allen, and Mahem Khan.
Meanwhile, Andre Percival will serve as the head coach alongside team manager Nazeer Mohamed.
“Exciting young fast bowler Isai Thorne, who made his first-class debut in this year’s West Indies Championship, is unavailable after he was recently named to tour England with the West Indies Test team as a development player from June 23”, the release stated.
The team is expected to depart local shores on June 30th.
