Body of headless woman discovered at Port Kaituma

The Port Kaituma police are investigating the discovery of the partially nude body of a headless female which was discovered in an advanced stage of decomposition on Friday at around 16.30 hours in the area of Catwalk, in Central Port Kaituma, Region One.

The authorities believe that the deceased is Paulette Edwards, who was last seen on Tuesday, June 4. Reports are that the body was found in a swamp, surrounded by trees and shrubs. It is estimated that it had been there for about four days.

The deceased was clad in a black top pulled up to her chest, exposing her bra, while her lower body was fully exposed. In a subsequent search conducted yesterday, ranks from the Port Kaituma Police Station located a head believed to be from the decomposed body.

Efforts are currently underway to contact a male acquaintance of the suspected deceased to seek his assistance in the investigation. Investigators are working to gather all relevant information and evidence to bring closure to the case in order to provide answers to the grieving family.

The police are urging anyone with information relevant to the incident to come forward, noting that community cooperation is crucial in ensuring the swift resolution of this tragic event.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted tomorrow.
