Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Essequibo Zone
Chelsea, Ballers, Gunners and Henrietta United were among the teams to secure berths in the quarterfinal section when the maiden edition of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Essequibo edition kicked off on Friday evening at the Anna Regina car park tarmac.
Witnessed by a mammoth crowd, Chelsea disarmed the Guyana Defence Force by a 2-0 score. K. Glasgow opened the scoring for the eventual victor in the second minute. The contest was then sealed five minutes later via an O. Warrick conversion.
On the other hand, Ballers squeaked past Dartmouth 1-0. Marvin Walcott recorded the only conversion of the contest, as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the second minute with a strike from the right side of the field.
