Edinho Lewis, a 37-year-old unemployed man, was arrested by police on Saturday morning after a search of his apartment at Lot 126 Da Silva Street, Kitty, Georgetown revealed firearms and narcotics.
A police press release said ranks acted on information received and went to Lewis’ residence at approximately 12:30 hrs. Upon making contact with him, they conducted a search of the apartment and found one AK-47 rifle, one Glock 26 pistol, 830 live 7.62 ammunition, four live .223 ammunition, nine live 9mm ammunition, and two live .32 ammunition, three AR-15 magazines, one AK-47 magazine, and three Glock magazines, a scale used in weighing narcotics, a gun silencer, a quantity of ecstasy, 107 grammes of cocaine and 544.3 grammes of cannabis.
Lewis was informed of the offences committed, cautioned and arrested.
A team from CID Headquarters processed all the articles found at the scene. The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.
