In a visit to the Lethem Fire Station on June 9th, Minister of Home Affairs Robeson Benn conducted a comprehensive walkthrough and urged fire-fighters to be in a state of readiness so that they can respond to calls within 20 seconds.

A release from the ministry said that the highlight of Benn’s visit was his address to the fire officers, where he emphasised the paramount importance of rapid response times in emergency situations.

Benn challenged the officers to maintain a state of readiness that would enable them to respond to calls within 20 seconds of receiving an alert.

To achieve this goal, Benn instructed the fire officers to conduct regular drills and exercises, simulating various emergency scenarios.

Benn commended the fire officers for their dedication and commitment to serving the community.
