We would like street lights, a security camera and garbage collection at Mud Dam Sophia

Dear Editor,

While I recognize that every community is faced with problems, I also note the tremendous efforts of this Government to rectify those problems that led to the satisfactory of residents within their community. I am residing at Mud Dam Sophia and over a span of ten years advocated for an all-weather road and a bridge which was facilitated by both the PPP (road) and PNC (bridge) for which we are grateful.

However, during that same period I also advocated for street lights and a security camera at the entrance from New Haven because of several incidents of crimes but have received no favourable response. That apart, the City Council is collecting garbage just a stone throw from Mud Dam while we have to pay a private contractor to collect our garbage that costs an approximate twenty-five thousand dollars a year. When he is not available, which has become regular, we have to pay the city garbage collector to pick up our garbage, because as they say, it is not within their jurisdiction.

So, as stated in the first paragraph, can the relevant authority look into these three issues in order to provide total satisfaction at Mud Dam Sophia that only have about eleven houses.

Sincerely,

D. Sookdeo
