Corentyne man succumbs days after crash

An accident along the Number 56 Public Road, Corentyne  on Sunday has left a young man dead.

According to information gathered, the 5.45 pm accident involved motor car PWW 1546 driven by Suraj Shewdas and a motorcycle which was being ridden by Andy Roberts who succumbed on Monday.

Rosevern Roberts, 25, explained that her brother Andy Roberts, 20, a labourer of Number 57 Village, was returning home when the motor car which was heading in the opposite direction allegedly made a turn infront of him resulting in a crash.

She said her brother who fell on the road sustained major head injuries.

He was rushed to the Skeldon Public Hospital from where he was then transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital and then the Georgetown Public Hospital where he eventually succumbed on Monday afternoon.

The family yesterday said that they are seeking justice as they claimed that the police have yet to reach out to them in relation to providing an update in the matter.

Commander of Region Six, Shivpersaud Bacchus when contacted yesterday said that the driver of the motor car was rearrested as the investigation continues.
