Anns Grove United defeated arch-nemesis Buxton United by a scoreline of 3-0 in the East Coast Demerara derby when the KFC Elite League resumed on Monday evening at the National Training Centre, Providence, East Bank Demerara.
A second-half blitz by the Anns Grove unit settled the contest following a scoreless first-half period. Quincy Barry opened the floodgates as he found the back of the net in the 58th minute. The Shaquan David would then make his presence felt as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 73rd minute.
The result was then finalised in the 90th+3 minute, as Travis Williams netted. Meanwhile, Den Amstel and Monedderlust played to a scoreless affair. Due to the outcome, Den Amstel climbed to 12 points and remained in seventh place, while Monedderlust moved up to eight points and remained in ninth place.
