The Bank of Guyana (BoG) today announced the revocation of the licence of Confidential Cambio, the agency linked to Nazar Mohamed and Azruddin Mohamed.
The cambio was blacklisted on Tuesday by the US Treasury.
In a public notice on its website, the BoG said “Members of the Public are hereby advised of the revocation of the licence of Confidential Cambio situated at Lot 29 Lombard Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown in accordance with the Dealers in Foreign Currency (Licensing) Act 1989. As a consequence, the entity is no longer authorized to conduct the business of buying and selling of foreign currency”.
No explanation for the decision was provided by the BoG.
