Guard among trio remanded over armed robbery at Providence supermarket

Brian Stevens, a 22-year-old labourer from Haslington, East Coast Demerara; Claudius James, a 20-year-old security officer of South Ruimveldt Squatting Area, Georgetown and Ronaldo Allicock, a 21-year-old labourer of Providence, East Bank Demerara; were arrested on 2024-06-09 and charged jointly on 2024-06-11 by ranks of Providence Police Station Criminal Investigation Department with armed robbery.

The police said in a statement yesterday that they are accused of committing the act on a 28-year-old Chinese businessman from Providence, East Bank Demerara. The trio is accused of committing the armed robbery on 2024-06-03 at YIJIA

They appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court #2 before Magistrate Judy Latchman, where the charge was read to them jointly. They pleaded not guilty, and bail was refused. They were remanded to prison.

The matter was adjourned to 2024-06-26.
