While residents no doubt welcomed the raising of the Waterloo Street Avenue, they have now been left with a long ditch that accumulates water on the eastern side of the road near the junction of Waterloo and New Market streets. Shouldn’t the contractor and the supervising engineer have ensured that the improvement works did not lead to this problem? Similar repositories of water also occur further north towards Lamaha Street.
