Timehri United and Agricola Red Triangle registered easy victories when the East Bank Demerara Senior Men’s League continued at the National Training Centre, Providence.
Timehri United dismantled Circuitville 10-0. A 4-0 lead at the conclusion of the first half effectively ended the contest. Tyrone Burnett, who feasted on the lacklustre defence of Circuitville to record an eventual five conversions, commenced the rout with a 10th-minute strike.
This was followed by a Jonathan Bailey effort, as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 17th minute. Burnette then completed his double in the 21st minute to further extend his side’s advantage to 3-0. The first half blitz was completed in the 35th minute as Burnett secured his hat-trick.
The second stanza began like the first, as Burnett etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 47th minute to seal his helmet trick. Keyron Williams then made his presence known three minutes later to push the score to 6-0.
The scoreline ballooned once more as Bailey found the back of the net in the 52nd minute to complete his brace. Tyrel Khan then got into the scoring act with a 62nd-minute conversion to make it 8-0. This was followed by Shaquille Baptiste, who got into the ‘goal rush’ in the 80th minute to push the score to 9-0.
Burnette then completed his haul in the 85th minute to seal the lopsided results. Meanwhile, Agricola defeated the Friendship All-Stars via walkover.
The competition continues on Sunday at the same venue with another round of matches.
