Red Force and Front Side recorded hard-fought wins when the 6th edition of the Mocha Village Cup ‘Soft Shoe’ Football Championship resumed last night at the community centre ground.
Red Force overcame Back Street 2-1. Wendell Joseph and Ryan Skinner netted in the sixth and ninth minutes, respectively. For the loser, Deshaun Ellis found the back of the net in the 13th minute.
Likewise, Front Side downed TMT by an identical score. Jermaine Harry and Andrew Bennett found the back of the net in the third and 10th minutes, respectively. On target in the loss was Raheem Angus in the eighth minute.
Meanwhile, the event continues tomorrow at the same venue. In the opening match, Back Street will oppose Make It Happen at 20:30hrs, while Unruly battles Front Side at 21:45hrs, and Touches takes aim at Street Ballers at 22:00hrs.
In the fourth encounter, Agricola will tackle Genesis at 22:45hrs while Slugs will engage the Laing Avenue at 23:30hrs, and Ballerz Empire takes aim at Back Circle at 00:45hrs.
The winner of the event will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will walk away with $200,000, $100,000, and $50,000 and the corresponding accolade.
