The haphazard collection of garbage in our country

Dear Editor,

It is with some measure of disappointment and frustration that those of us in this country, who are concerned about the proper use of our natural and manufactured resources, continue to observe that those in the relevant authorities are still not enforcing the rules and systems to address the haphazard collection of garbage in all parts of our country. This is not only contributing to a serious wastage of the world’s material resources, but causing a disgusting scenario in our waterways, and even our streets and other places in all the regions of our country, and helping to worsen the situation of climate change in our world.

This is astonishing when we all know that we are fortunately endowed with the financial means to ensure proper collection and disposal of our garbage.  Along with this, we are left to wonder how all those in authority at all levels of the administration of our nation are neglecting this, making us believe that they have no interest in this issue of climate change that is a serious matter in our human affairs. I hope that they will take note and commence this proper treatment of our waste, as we know that all responsible governments place much effort and resources on ensuring.

Sincerely,

Roy Paul
