Defending divisional champions Bartica and Waramuri stormed into the quarterfinal segment when the ExxonMobil Boy’s and Girl’s U-14 Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.In the Girl’s section, Waramuri thrashed Bush Lot 7-0. Erika Harris led the rout with a hat-trick in the 20th, 25th, and 32nd minutes, while the quartet of Brentia Marks, Shenesa Thomas, Tina Williams, and Lillianna Bacchus scored in the 10th, 29th, 38th, and 39th minutes, respectively.

Meanwhile, Bartica overcame a one-goal deficit to defeat St. John’s College 3-1. Jadan Christian bagged a second-half double in the 38th and 50th minutes, while Garfield Jones netted in the 33rd. For the loser, Joshua Phillips scored in the sixth minute.

In the other results, President College thumped the Institute of Academic Excellence (IAE) 12-0 in the girl’s section. Kimore Edwards recorded six conversions in the first, fifth, eighth, 20th, 26th, and 31st minutes, while Sharmel Blake tallied a hat-trick in the 21st, 27th, and 30th minutes. Adding a brace was Reyanna Gounga in the 10th and 29th minutes, while Nesa Andrew netted in the 16th. On the other hand, Wismar/Christianburg downed Santa Rosa 3-1 on penalty kicks after regulation time ended 1-1. Prior to the eventual conclusion, Jeremiah Piggott scored for the Lindeners in the 18th minute, while Lando Williams netted for Santa Rosa in the 30th minute.

Also, Chase Academy edged Hope Secondary 3-2. The trio of Mark Glashow, Ranny Yam, and Akeem Young scored in the 10th, 34th, and 40th minutes, respectively. For the loser, Quashawn Campbell bagged a brace in the 26th and 38th minutes.
