Defending divisional champions Bartica and Waramuri stormed into the quarterfinal segment when the ExxonMobil Boy’s and Girl’s U-14 Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.In the Girl’s section, Waramuri thrashed Bush Lot 7-0. Erika Harris led the rout with a hat-trick in the 20th, 25th, and 32nd minutes, while the quartet of Brentia Marks, Shenesa Thomas, Tina Williams, and Lillianna Bacchus scored in the 10th, 29th, 38th, and 39th minutes, respectively.
Meanwhile, Bartica overcame a one-goal deficit to defeat St. John’s College 3-1. Jadan Christian bagged a second-half double in the 38th and 50th minutes, while Garfield Jones netted in the 33rd. For the loser, Joshua Phillips scored in the sixth minute.
