Defending men’s champion Paruima got their campaign off to the perfect start with a 4-0 drubbing of Kako when the 2nd edition of the Upper Mazaruni District Football Championship commenced.
Whitney King bagged a double in the fifth and 68th minutes, while Kimron Thomas and Robaldo Johnson netted in the 23rd and 30th minutes, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Kako downed Paruima. Ravina Morris bagged a brace in the 30th and 48th minutes, while Grenaive Brown scored in the 42nd minute.
Continuing in the same segment, Waramadong edged Kamarang 2-1. Ester Livan tallied a brace in the 46th and 78th minutes.
On target in the loss was Clarine Williams in the 15th minute.
