GDF gets logistics boost from US company

The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) recently concluded a series of strategic discussions with the U.S. Logistics Company Advising Team 1610 (LCAT 1610) to significantly bolster its logistics, supply operations, and tactical capabilities.

A release from the GDF said that the sessions focused on critical areas such as ammunition storage, supply chain management, weapons maintenance, and tactical combat casualty care. In addition, LCAT 1610 offered  valuable insights into Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) development and training management. The team also engaged in  discussions with the Force Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer Class One, Raul Rodney.

Future priorities for the GDF include training management, long- and short-range planning, and engineering support for mobility and counter-mobility operations to ensure enhanced adaptability and resilience, the release said.

The US team was led by Lieutenant Colonel Phillip Hetteberg.
