On Friday, amidst a gathering at the Kumaka waterfront in Region 1, the Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand presided over the formal commissioning of a newly acquired boat, acting on behalf of Minister of Health Dr Frank Anthony.
This addition to the region’s infrastructure, valued at $1.8 million, has been specifically allocated for operational use within the health sector, a release from the Ministry of Education said.
The brief ceremony was marked by expressions of appreciation from healthcare professionals, who underscored the boat’s potential for home visits and to provide essential healthcare services to the residents of Arukamai.
