Cycling federation National Time Trials postponed due to roadworks

The GCF’s National Time Trials were postponed due to ongoing roadworks along the proposed route, however, the National Road Races will continue as scheduled on June 23 and June 30.

Initially scheduled for Sunday (June 16) along the Heroes Highway, East Bank Demerara, the Guyana Cycling Federation’s (GCF) National Time Trials had to be postponed due to ongoing roadworks. 

According to an advisory from the GCF, their request for usage of the stipulated route was met with the news from the Commander of the Diamond/Grove Police Headquarters.

The GCF relayed that a response from the aforementioned office was received “informing the Assistant Secretary of the Guyana Cycle Federation that their request to use the Heroes Highway was not approved due to ongoing road construction works”.
