Timehri Panthers and Diamond United recorded comfortable wins when the East Bank Demerara Senior Men’s League continued at the National Training Centre, Providence.
Diamond United defeated Friendship via walkover after the latter failed to take the playing area at the scheduled match time. With the result, Diamond moves onto three points in group B, while Friendship remains pointless in the cellar position.
Likewise, the Timehri Panthers defeated the Pakuri Warriors in an identical manner, following the latter’s absence from the playing area at the stipulated time. Due to the victory, the Panthers maintained their perfect record as they solidified their place atop group A with 12 points from four matches. On the other hand, the Pakuri Warriors remain winless with zero points in fourth place.
The competition continues on Sunday at the same venue with another round of matches.
The other competing teams are: Timehri United, Swan, Circuitville, Agricola, Herstelling, and Soesdyke. At the conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams from each section will advance to the semifinal round, which will eventually decide the winner of the tournament.
