Paruima and Jawalla punched their tickets to the final in the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively, following semifinal wins yesterday in the 2nd edition of the Upper Mazaruni District Football Championship.
In the men’s category, defending champion Paruima dismantled Waramadong 4-0. Kimron Thomas led the way with a hat-trick in the 12th, 56th, and 58th minutes, while Whitney King added to the score in the 36th minute.
With the win, Paruima will now oppose Kamarang in the championship match on Sunday. In the women’s division, Jawalla defeated Kamarang 1-0. Deviana Hunter scored in the 58th minute. They will now meet Waramadong in the final.
