Leonora eliminates defending boy’s champion Bartica in U-14 Football

A new champion will be crowned in the boy’s division of the ExxonMobil U-14 Football Championship as Leonora eliminated holders Bartica on penalty kicks yesterday in the quarterfinal round at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Leonora prevailed 4-1 to eliminate the defending champion after regulation time ended at 2-2. Prior to the aforesaid conclusion, Bartica stormed to a commanding 2-0 advantage following a double from Garfield Jones in the 10th and 18th minutes.

However, Leonora equalised in the form of Quincy Fraser and Johan Culley, who scored in the 23rd and 32nd minutes, respectively.
