The Ministry of Education is still to review the suggestions made by the Board of Queen’s College regarding the teacher involved in the flogging of ten students.
When contacted last week for an update on the action to be taken Chief Education Officer Saddam Hussein stated that the ministry had not yet reviewed the suggestions due to being preoccupied with other tasks such as cash grants. When asked about a timeline for a resolution, Hussein was unable to do so.
The incident occurred on May 16, when a senior teacher at Queens College allegedly flogged ten students for undisclosed reasons. This event triggered significant backlash and drew the attention of ChildLinK, a child advocacy organization. The board had forwarded its suggestions to the ministry since June 4.
