The Guyana Cycling Federation’s (GCF) National Championship pedalled off yesterday along the Linden/Soesdyke Highway amid heavy rainfall, with Alexander Leung and Robin Persaud among the category winners.
Despite the downpour, the cyclists in the Masters, Juniors, Juveniles, and Women’s categories engaged in competitive cycling despite the low turnout of 13 competitors.
KFC Evolution’s Robin Persaud bossed the U-50 category, making the trip from the Soesdyke Junction up the highway to Silver Hill and back to the point of origin in a time of two hours, 35 minutes, and 42 seconds, with Kaieteur Attack’s Kwame Ridley and Segun Hubbard clinching second and third, respectively.
