Hardat Chan, a 27-year-old taxi driver from Heathburn Village, East Bank Berbice, was arrested on Sunday and charged yesterday with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking (235 grams).
Chan appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tuanna Hardy, where the charge was read to him.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
