Cricket fan cashes in on semi-final ticket after missing out on earlier promotion

Cricket fan Elizabeth Sunich has gotten herself a ticket for tomorrow’s blockbuster ICC T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England at the National Stadium at Providence after missing out on an earlier promotion.

Banks D.I.H Limited yesterday said that it had observed that there was some concern being expressed about Sunich allegedly being deprived of a Group Stage Ticket for the ICC Men’s World Cup T20 Tournament.

In a statement Banks D.I.H advised that as the representatives of Coca Cola in Guyana a promotion was run from the 1st to the 8th of June 2024 for tickets for the Group Stage of the ICC Men’s World Cup T20 Tournament held in Guyana. The promotions were held across Guyana at various outlets and many fans won and received tickets to the matches played here during the first week of June 2024.

It said that  Sunich was advised as all other winners were, that the tickets were in electronic ticket format and as such, an email address had to be provided to access same immediately upon winning. Unfortunately, it said Sunich could not provide such although repeatedly reminded. Sunich subsequently reached out to access the promotional ticket for the Group Games but was told that the time had passed as those games were completed.

“The matter surfaced on June 25, 2024 on Social media and recognizing that  Sunich is a fan of cricket, an electronic ticket for the Semi Final Stage of the ICC Men’s World Cup T20 Tournament on Thursday, June 27, 2024 was made available and the ticket was transferred to a third party email address on her request”, the company said in the statement.

Banks D.I.H Limited says it has at all times honoured its commitments to its customers and fans in its promotions and will continue to do so.
