Stabroek Ballers defeated Broad Street 2-1 when the sixth edition of the Mocha Village Cup ‘Soft Shoe’ Football Championship continued at the community centre tarmac.
Stabroek Ballers seized early control of the contest, following in the sixth minute. However, Jimmy Gravesande restored parity to proceedings as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 12th minute. Not to be outdone, Jamal Cozier secured the victory for the Stabroek Ballers as he slotted past the opposing goalkeeper.
The winner of the event will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will walk away with $200,000, $100,000, and $50,000 and the corresponding accolade.
