Intense rain in Linden over the past few days has led to erosion of a major portion of the Block 22 roadway, restricting traffic. The erosion, which began on Monday, grew worse on Tuesday leading to the road being blocked off completely. Yesterday Regional Chairman Deron Adams noted that since 2020 there have been calls for funding to be provided for drainage in Linden, but the response was that there are no funds available at the local level.

“We had asked for a[n] NDIA office to be built in Linden. This has not commenced despite the request [being] made in 2022/2023. 22 million was allocated but because of delays between NICIL and NDIA in terms of transfer of land, etc., nothing has been done. We had already identified a piece of land at Retrieve for the office to be built,” Adams said.
