National Junior Badminton Championships
Frank Wadell and Xavio Alexander will contest the Boy’s U-19 final, while Leshaunte Berkley and Mishka Beharry will tussle for the Girl’s U-19 crown following their respective semifinal wins last evening in the National Junior Badminton Championships at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Wadell brushed aside Jonathan Debidin 21-6, 21-6, while Alexander thrashed Jonathan Robinson 21-8, 21-9. On the other hand, Berkley bested Malia Haley 21-17, 17-21, 21-16, while Beharry downed Nevaeh Eastman 21-18, 21-5.
Meanwhile, Beharry and Malia Haley will contest the final of the Girl’s U-17 division following semifinal wins. Beharry defeated Menikshi Jaikissoon 21-5, 21-7, while Haley overcame Nevaeh Eastman 13-21, 22-20, 21-14.
The event continues today at the same venue.
