Roysdale  Forde, SC yesterday withdrew from all nominated positions at today’s scheduled  voting at the PNCR Congress for a new executive.

His withdrawal followed the ending of his campaign last week for leadership of the PNCR citing unresolved concerns over the process.

In a terse letter addressed to the Returning Officer, Vincent Alexander, Forde  stated, “For the avoidance of doubt please note that I Roysdale A. Forde, S.C., hereby withdraw from all nominated positions for the Congress elections to be held on Sunday June 30th, 2024.”

In her withdrawal letter, Annette Ferguson, MP, echoed Forde’s sentiments. She cited numerous inconsistencies and discrepancies in the preparations leading up to the congress. Expressing deep regret over unresolved issues and allegations of an undemocratic process, Ferguson announced her decision to abstain from participating in the electoral process. “It is quite regretful that I have to inform you that as of Thursday, June 27, 2024, the issues remain unaddressed,” Ferguson lamented in a letter addressed to the party leadership.

Following suit, Pt. Ubraj Narine and Natasha Singh-Lewis also withdrew their nominations, emphasizing their commitment to transparency and integrity within the PNCR. Narine underlined his dedication to upholding decency and transparency, while Lewis highlighted her duty as a leader to set an example amidst allegations of party misconduct.

Singh-Lewis, Shadow Minister of Human Services, expressed reluctance but ultimately suspended her campaign for Vice Chairman and Central Executive Member positions. Citing her duty to uphold transparency and accountability, Singh-Lewis highlighted concerns raised by recent party resignations and misconduct allegations.

“As a leader, I have a solemn duty to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and integrity,” Singh-Lewis stated, underscoring the difficult decision she made in light of recent developments.

On Thursday Amanza Walton-Desir MP also withdrew from the race for leadership meaning that the incumbent, Aubrey Norton will return unchallenged as leader today.
