DeepOcean (Guyana) Subsea Services Inc. has been granted approval by the Ministry of Education to proceed with a rehabilitation project at Grove Primary School.

A release from the company said that the project involves the renovation of an old canteen building on the school grounds into a literacy room and is the brainchild of  Analisa Persaud, a teacher at the school.

DeepOcean (Guyana) Subsea Services Inc. is a local majority-owned Subsea Services and Solutions provider, established in 2022 between DeepOcean and Guyana Oil & Gas Support Services Inc.

Director, Nicholas Deygoo stated: “A major element in the establishment of this business in Guyana, was to support the development of local resources, not only through direct employment and training, but through projects like this. We believe that education will play a major role in ensuring that the people of Guyana benefit, more than any other group, from its Oil & Gas sector in the long term”.

The project is planned to be executed over the summer vacation and will be ready for use when school begins in September.
